So thank you for your prayers concerning my legal transcription certification.

I received an initial grading of 95 through the system and am waiting to hear back from the organization for my official grade. It should be a go if there are no hiccups, but still, please pray, considering I got to this stage last time!

The last couple of days, I’ve been marveling at the truth in God transforming my heart without me striving for change. It’s amazing to watch that prayer answered in action.

I’m good at striving, trying, working until I feel like a small pile of ash. But I’m not good at Him taking the lead.

These past 40 days have allowed me to just, well, allow. Allow Him to work out what He needs to in the depth of my heart, the depths of my soul.

It’s been refreshing and much needed.

Lastly, in this incredibly random update, a few things:

I’m listening to Becoming Mrs. Lewis. It’s a fictionalized account of Joy Davidman’s relationship (and eventual marriage to) C.S. Lewis. Davidman was not only an incredible poet but a woman who didn’t always identify with everything womanly and often seemed more like a man with the way she thought.

I…get that.

Her story is a reminder that God makes each of us so uniquely, and it’s important to jump into our designs instead of fighting them for the sake of what society might think.

Also, A Grief Observed is a collection of Lewis’s thoughts after Davidman’s death–a truly brilliant and comforting book. I listened to it after my dog, Roxie, died and felt ridiculous, considering it was about the life and death of a human woman, but it still brought me peace.

My next work is called It All Comes Out in the Wash: A Book of Reflections. I have a few previous pieces already collected, but I will add more from whatever God grants me to write.

I’m also starting a new book of poetry (title TBD).

Lastly, Joy wrote an interpretation of the Ten Commandments, and I’m feeling the urge to write my own breakdown of how “life’s scaffolding” (if you will) is vital, especially in our current day and age.
